First Slow Dance

The lights went low.
They played something slow.
You held out your hand,
and I couldn't say no.
My heart was beating way too fast.
You smiled and pulled me close at last.
Your hands around my waist.
My head against your chest.
I don't remember the song,
but I remember everything else.
Mm. Remember everything else.
My friends were watching, I tried not to smile.
We barely moved, but I wished for a while.
You whispered something in my ear.
I didn't hear, I wanted you near.
